Dream Interpretation

Dreams in Islam hold significance but should be approached with care and wisdom. While some dreams may carry divine messages, others may be meaningless or misleading. It is essential to seek interpretation from wise, knowledgeable, trustworthy individual and rely on Allah for guidance. Remember, the ultimate knowledge of dreams lies with Allah alone.

Supplications Before Sleep at Night

What you should do when you see a dream?

Ibn Hajar said: to sum up what has been said about good dreams, we may say three things:

  • A person should praise Allah for the good dream.

  • He should feel happy about it.

  • He should talk about it to those whom he loves but not to those whom he dislikes.

Abu Qatadah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him (ﷺ)) said: “Good dreams come from Allah and bad dreams come from the Shaytan. If anyone sees a bad dream that scares him, let him spit drily to his left and seek refuge with Allah from its evil, then it will not harm him.”

(Narrated by al-Bukhari, 3292

The great scholar, Ibn Sirin, was one of several experts on dream interpretation. Even he says that knowledge and wisdom of dream interpretation is very difficult..

Even the most erudite scholars treated the subject very carefully.

Here are a few more verses from Quran abou night, day, Lunar and Moon Calendar and Stars.

It is Allah Who has made the night for you to rest in and the day bright. Surely Allah is ever Bountiful to humanity, but most people are ungrateful. – (40:61)

There is also a sign for them in the night: We strip from it daylight, then—behold!—they are in darkness.  – (36:37) – The sun travels for its fixed term. That is the design of the Almighty, All-Knowing.  – (36:38) – As for the moon, We have ordained ˹precise˺ phases for it, until it ends up ˹looking˺ like an old, curved palm stalk. – (36:39) – It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon,1 nor does the night outrun the day. Each is travelling in an orbit of their own. – (36:40)

He causes the dawn to break, and has made the night for rest and ˹made˺ the sun and the moon ˹to travel˺ with precision. That is the design of the Almighty, All-Knowing. – (6:96) – And He is the One Who has made the stars as your guide through the darkness of land and sea. We have already made the signs clear for people who know.  – (6:97) –  And He is the One Who originated you all from a single soul,1 then assigned you a place to live and another to ˹be laid to˺ rest. We have already made the signs clear for people who comprehend.  – (6:98)
